let’s play ball: resources for kids at home

Apr 8, 2020

Hi friends!

Looking for some fun activities for your kiddos during this time at home? As most of you probably know, with all that has been going on, the MLB has postponed its 2020 season. With the passing of what would have been Opening Day, everyone is really starting to miss baseball right about now.

Now, while my family and I are diehard Cubs fan, we are also Chicagoans, and we love all things Chi– so when the Chicago White Sox reached out with some fun resources available for kids on their blog, how could I not share?

The White Sox and MLB have created Summer Slugger, a free online educational platform that uses baseball to help kids (ages 8-11) maintain their math and literacy skills while away from the classroom.

The White Sox have also created the Kids Corner app, which includes fun puzzles, games, and information on the South Siders, tailored for kids to experience a trip to the ballpark without leaving the living room!

The goal is that this should be fun content for parents to engage their children in baseball activities at homee prior to the start of the 2020 season! Here are some more links for great activities!

I hope you and your family find some fun and excitement in these activities! Now, PLAY BALL!
