Favorite winter find… and finally being able to use it!

Well, as I’m sure most of you are aware, a majority of the Midwest has been covered in a nice thick coating of snow in the last 24+ hours. In our area of Chicago, we got approximately 2-3 inches, making everything nice and white! My first thought while watching the snow fall, was how I was finally going to be able to use my new down coat I got during the Nordstrom Half Yearly Sale on New Year’s Day! (Actually that might have been my second, the first was probably something like I guess the baby and I won’t be leaving the house today!)

I just checked the Nordy app and the coat is still available in some sizes and colors PLUS it’s 45% off, which makes it even cheaper than what I paid! It’s Sam Edelman and the quality is fabulous. I found my coat at my local Nordstrom (last one in my size and in the color I wanted — it was a sign for sure), so you can always check in-store for more colors if you don’t like the ones online. I’m wearing a small, and I’d say it runs pretty TTS.

When I first saw the coat there was black, navy, a dark gray, white, olive, burgundy… probably others that I’m forgetting, too! I’ve had my eye on this coat since early fall after my best friend spotted it on one of our many Nordstrom trips, and I’m so glad I waiting seeing that it’s been such a mild winter up until this point!

This is definitely one of my favorite winter finds this season! I wore my coat over the comfiest Sunday outfit including a pair of Good American jeans (my exact ones are sold out but I’ll link a similar pair), a BP top (also sold out, but I’m linking a different shirt I own that I love and is on sale for $7.60!), and my go-to J. Crew Chelsea rain boots that you can get in black or green for only $39.50! I brought these boots to England earlier in the year and they are so versatile!

Also on a fun side note, while being confined inside yesterday, my almost 13 month old daughter took her first steps!

Stay warm!

xx, thewindycitymama
