our CryoPure Spa experience

For the last 3 or so weeks, Tom and I were offered the opportunity to receive treatments at CryoPure Spa up in Highland Park. CryoPure Spa is a cryotherapy wellness center that uses curative, non-invasive health treatment involving subzero temperatures to help you stay fit, beautiful, young, and, overall, feel good. Being a personal trainer, Tom had previously looked into the benefits of cryotherapy and was excited to see how well it actually helped with wellness and recovery.

Where you receive Cryoskin treatments

I received three of the CryoSkin 4.0 facials. Cryoskin applies sub-zero temperatures to destroy fat cells in the body, providing non-invasive treatments for slimming and toning. The facial helps to stimulate major collagen production, lifts the face, and visibly reduces wrinkles. After my three visits, I could definitely feel and see a difference in my face. My skin felt tighter and smoother. Having never tried any type of cryotherapy prior to this, I was unsure what the experience would be like, but I found it to be extremely relaxing and enjoyable.

CryoSkin 4.0 is also used on several different parts of the body to target, slim, and tone. The slimming treatment consists of a 3 phase thermal shock that will help naturally destroy fat cells. This is one option whether you’re looking to lose fat on your stomach, thighs, arms or back. If you’re looking to remove cellulite or slow down the aging process, the toning treatment is the one for you. This 20-minute cold therapy treatment will help improve your microcirculation and speed up your metabolism, which results in higher collagen production.

Tom in the cryosauna at -210 degrees

Tom received three of the whole body cryotherapy treatments where he entered the Cryosauna and was exposed to temperatures between -166 and -274 degrees. During the 3 minute session, a series of physical reactions, including vasoconstriction, occur, which helps to push the blood to your inner core, in order to protect your vital organs.

As you exit the Cryosauna, your body temperature begins to return to its baseline. Due to the mechanism of action, there is a release of endorphins that gives you energy and helps with mood stabilization and sleep. In addition, your blood is now theoretically more oxygenized and nutrient-rich than before, allowing your body’s natural inflammation-reducing processes to target areas of need. After each visit, Tom said he immediately felt an energy and adrenaline rush, but then experienced better quality sleep then he had in months. He said this is definitely something he would look into doing pre or post-workout and would recommend to any of his personal training clients.

CryoPure Spa offers a wide assortment of other treatments, as well, including localized cryotherapy which targets a specific area of the body and can tighten skin, reduce wrinkles, and even reduce swelling and aid in recovery. They also offer Celluma light therapy, which targets wrinkles and acne and is scientifically proven to relieve pain. Their facility also houses a full spectrum infrared sauna, which can be used for detoxification, pain relief, an anti-aging or weight-loss treatment, and numerous other benefits.

As I mentioned, never having done cryotherapy previously, both Tom and I were excited to try and see what kind of results we would get. Safe to say, we are both extremely happy with not only the results, but the entire experience with CryoPure Spa and definitely plan to return in thee future to try more and other treatments.
